Check out in-person and virtual summer opportunities offered by the OU Health Campus. Opportunities are designed for students of various ages and ranging in length from day camps to four-week programs.

The Discovery Day program is intended for the purpose of exposing high school students to the numerous programs offered at the OU Health Campus. The goal of Discovery Day is to provide guidance toward a professional health career to high school students who have expressed an interest in the health sciences.

SPARK Summer Camp

College of Medicine

The OU Health Campus College of Medicine invites you to participate in SPARK, a free, week-long summer program for high school students interested in health careers. All high school students are encouraged to apply; however, preference will be given to upperclassmen.

Camp BoomeRx

College of Pharmacy

The OU Health Campus College of Pharmacy Camp BoomeRx is a weeklong intensive camp held designed to provide the foundation for a successful pharmacy school application. Sessions will include pharmacy school study preparation, one-on-one application coaching, introduction to pharmacy school topics, interaction with faculty, alumni, and pharmacy students, and more. ✔ Open to undergraduate students (completed freshman year/24 credit hours, age 18+, minimum 2.75 GPA) ✔ Camp is FREE—all materials and activities provided ✔ Participants are responsible for personal travel and lodging

Summer Immersion Program (SIP)

Recruitment & Admissions

The Summer Immersion Program is a full day program designed for prospective students to learn from and engage with numerous members of OU Health Campus. The goal is to expose participants to the 70+ programs available, while equipping students with the tools to be successful in the application process. All applicants must be 18 years or older to attend. Students will participate in presentations from the seven academic colleges and will have the opportunity to engage in medical simulations.

Summer Undergraduate Research Program

Graduate College

The Graduate College at the OU Health Campus hosts five summer undergraduate research programs aimed at preparing and encouraging undergraduate students to pursue careers in biomedical research or health-related sciences. Students join experienced laboratories where they work with other students and personnel to pursue their own projects over the course of a nine-week period. On the final day, students show off their progress at a poster session to the campus community.
